Thank you for your interest in writing for Health Central News. We would like to invite you to join our mission to educate the community on aspects of health and wellness. You do NOT need to buy an ad to write for our paper.

Health Central News distributes 40,000 copies throughout Larimer and Boulder County to over 1,800 distributors. Since interesting and informative articles are part of what makes our paper successful, we offer the following incentives to our writers:

1) These articles give you the opportunity to educate and inform people about your profession. As you know, name recognition is a big part of getting yourself out into a market. You get your name and profession in the byline of the article and forty dollars. On the back cover, we have a special section thanking our writers. You will get your photo, contact information and website in this section.

2) We have a question and answer section called Ask the Experts. Professionals get their photo, contact information and website directly next to the question and answer. This is the only editorial section in which we permit writers to directly market their business. Therefore, no remittance is paid. Ask the experts answers should be 200-300 words. Issues come out on the first of the month. The deadlines for article submissions are two months before each issue comes out. Below are our specs for writers. Please read carefully.

Our articles represent the opinions of the writers and may advocate a particular position. They may NOT promote a specific business or product line, that's what we sell ad space for. Articles should be interesting, informative, and written for the reader. We only publish articles that have been written for us exclusively.

Articles are 500 - 800 words. The writing style is short, non-complex sentences that are easy to understand and read in a small amount of time. To be consistent, please refrain from using bullets, parenthesis, italics or formatting of any kind. Put one space after periods. Indent paragraphs by pressing the tab key once and put one hard return at the end of each paragraph. Remember while writing, the style of Health Central News is a quick read, not a textbook. The best way to understand our audience and writing style is to read the sample paper.
